My name is Christian Boosen and I was born in 1975 in Germany close to the Dutch border. My passion for motorbikes started from several Vespa CIAO and BRAVO and a SIMSON KR51 Schwalbe and finally made me buy a 1981 Yamaha XT500. Shortly after the purchase I travelled via Austria, along the Adriatic Sea, through Greece to Istanbul. Half of the time is was fixing my bike and when I finally made it home it was ready for a complete rebuild.
After that I started to restore some of these bikes every year.
My passion
I specialized in motorbikes from the 50ties up to the mid 90ties. Apart from the mentioned Yamaha SR/XT500 models (from which I own a big magazine with spare parts), nearly worked on every model of the big Japanese manufactures Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki and of course I was doing my share of BMW bikes of that time frame. Also, Italian vehicles like MotoGuzzi, Moto Morini, Benelli and Ducati and some Harleys crossed my way occasionally.
I like the construction and the classic lines of these Machines and generally spoken the usage of metal. Till now it is quite difficult for me to get why to use plastic on a motorcycle.
My job
There is nothing better than waking up at 6 in the morning in good humour, because you know, that what you will be doing for the next 10 hours gives you joy.
… and it is a special feeling, sitting on my balcony, hearing a motorcycle in the distance and realizing: This one was done in my workshop
